Simuride
The virtual tool to teach driving passenger and commercial vehicles.
SIMURIDE, as its name suggests, is a simulation software that is designed for use in teaching new drivers how to maneuver a vehicle on a road even before they get to sit in front of an actual steering wheel. The simuride software has a business version and a simplified home version. The business version was released on the first of September 2008.
Using simuride instead of learning to drive from behind an actual steering wheel has many benefits:
1. It makes learning how to drive more fun for the student driver. Learning how to drive with simuride rather than from behind a real steering wheel is just like playing a computer game.
2. Driving lessons become a lot safer. Because student drivers spend the first few hours using simuride, they become more knowledgeable and confident when they start driving a real car. Thus, it is less likely for them to get into accidents, bringing less stress to both parents and instructors, as well as the motorists who have to share the road with student drivers.
3. Simuride helps save fuel because student drivers do not have to ride a real car during the first few hours of their lessons. Also, it helps reduce carbon emissions that contribute to the greenhouse effect into the atmosphere.
The business edition is intended to be used with two or three-pedal components.
The three-pedal with gear shifter console allows the user to change gears manually, recording any clutch related error. For trucks, the double clutching method can be selected (forgetting double clutch and gas rise on neutral during a down shifting, or more than 50% clutch pedal pressure with up/down shifting displays error message immediately).
The software is specially designed, so for example the user will feel the resistance on the steering wheel during the turning manoeuvres and tremors when the vehicle hits the curb or reaches the road shoulder.
Rear-view and side-view mirrors together with the aerial-view are simulated, to help performing parallel parking or other activities requiring such views.
The visual scenes reproduce city, highway, country, maze and manoeuvring lot environments, with or without the traffic and with different obstacles.
To increase difficulty level, various atmospheric conditions can be applied.
The realistic sound is correlated with road conditions, engine RPM and speed.
The multi-display upgrade allows to run and view SIMURIDE application across three monitors generating 180-degree horizontal view. This feature enforces the student to turn his or her head and realistically imitates the driving environment.

The Skid Control (automatic and manual transmission vehicles):
to expose candidates to the various types of skids and slides that they may experience during any driving situation. The training is delivered with the aid of a Skid Car platform, which duplicates a wide range of road conditions.
